I came here to join the School of Education's outstanding tradition of research-based pedagogy and social justice. – Doctoral Student Zachery Rossetti

The School of Education offers students a wide variety of opportunities to learn firsthand the latest educational theory and practice. Students can be part of the innovative research at our on-campus centers, institutes and clinics. They can also participate in school district-based teaching centers where teachers, administrators and School of Education faculty members work together to improve the quality of education for local students.

The School of Education maintains excellent technical facilities that enhance student and faculty research. Thanks to a grant from the IBM Corp., we established a computer classroom on the lower level of Huntington Hall, featuring the most up-to-date equipment, services, and software. Our students can use instructional software programs in reading, writing, mathematics, and science to design lessons for children who are at particular developmental and learning levels.

A second computer laboratory employing digital audio, video, and imaging technology has been funded with grants from NYNEX and the New York State Science and Technology Foundation. It is the center for Web-based curriculum development using broadband telecommunications.
