Alumni Graduate Student Tuition Scholarship

The Alumni Graduate Tuition Scholarship Program offers funding covering 25% of the cost of tuition to students who have graduated from Syracuse University (any degree program) within the last five years and who enroll full-time into any School of Education master’s degree program.

Eligibility

  • Students must formally be admitted and matriculated into a School of Education master’s degree program and maintain satisfactory academic progress toward that degree, which includes attaining and maintaining a 3.0 cumulative grade point average by the end of the second semester.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time (9 credits in the fall or spring, or 6 credits in summer). Part-time students are eligible if they are also Syracuse City School District employees.
  • This scholarship is NOT available to students receiving SU employee/spouse/partner remitted tuition benefits.

Additional Details

  • The scholarship is offered to eligible students in their admission packet from the Graduate School. Students who sign the letter of acceptance for the scholarship are automatically credited 25% of their tuition each semester of full-time study in their program.
  • Scholarships are awarded and credited to student bursar accounts typically within two weeks after the University financial deadline for dropping courses and before the first billing statement for that semester is sent out. There will be no cash refunds or payouts.
  • For students who have matriculated in the 2017-18 academic year and prior, the value of the Graduate Tuition Scholarship is based on the total number of credit hours for which the student is registered. The scholarship is applied first to the tuition owed before all other funding is awarded.
  • For students who matriculate beginning in the 2018-19 academic year, the value of the Graduate Tuition Scholarship is based on the tuition for the total number of credit hours for which the student is registered minus the value of any outside scholarships/funding.
  • The scholarship does not cover tuition for undergraduate courses even if required as a prerequisite condition of full admission into the master’s program.
  • Students are eligible for only one School of Education percentage scholarship. The High Needs Scholarship, SOE Graduate Tuition Scholarship for Syracuse University Alumni and the SOE Orange Family Scholarship cannot be combined.
