The Dean's Fund
Without contributions at all levels of giving to the Dean's Fund, the School of Education would not have the flexibility to meet its students' needs or to seize opportunities to enrich School and Community life. This fund is our most powerful tool to help students in need, advance the School's impact, develop programs of excellence, support outstanding faculty, and to ensure all its students' successes in the field of Education.
Lecture Support
Harry S. and Elva K. Ganders Memorial Fund
Essential support is provided by the contributors to this fund for an annual public lecture by a visiting scholar in the field of education benefiting all in the University and Syracuse Communities.
Program Support
Center for Human Policy Gift Fund
The center was created by former Dean Burton Blatt and other faculty members to continue the research and policy-making necessary to uphold the rights for full participation in education and their communities by people with disabilities. A contributions to support the on-going work of this Center has far reaching impact on the future of public education and society.Facilitated Communication Institute Gift Fund
Facilitated Communication has enabled people all over the world who were excluded in society and thought to be mentally retarded because of autism, to communicate via keyboard and computer-aided voice recognition and therefore to fully participate in their education and life's pursuits. Gifts to carry on this important work inspires more people, families and educators to find ways for everyone to reach their full potential.Inclusive Education in Higher Education Gift Fund
Our newest fund carries on the tradition of inclusion on the campus of Syracuse University as a model for inclusive higher education for people with disabilities. This fund's supporters open the doors to college level classroom learning and adaptive campus living for those who otherwise would have no access to a college education.
Scholarship Support
The Board of Visitors Scholarship Fund
Created by the members of the School of Education Board of Visitors, this scholarship provides much needed financial assistance to graduate students at the School of Education. This fund truly provides a legacy of leadership, life long learning and commitment to the future of education.Burton Blatt Scholarship
Created by Burton Blatt, former Dean and champion of the rights of people with disabilities because of his steadfast belief in the dignity and value of all people, this premier scholarship provides financial assistance to deserving graduate students and carries on the tradition of the School's expertise in inclusive education. Contributions made to this fund strengthen the very foundations of the School of Education.Joan N. Burstyn Endowed Fund for Collaborative Research
Created by Professor Emeritus, Joan Burstyn, this prize is competitively awarded to support innovative research proposals in which faculty and graduate students have prepared and will work on together. It is a model of collaboration at Syracuse University and throughout Schools of Education.M. Eunice Hilton Memorial Fund
Continuing the significant legacy of the School's Student Dean Program, this prize in honor of Dr. Hilton, Director of the Program provides financial assistance for graduate students in the School of Education's Master's Degree Program in Student Affairs Administration.
Peter B. Mosenthal Graduate Scholarship
In memory of our distinguished professor, Peter Mosenthal, this scholarship provides financial assistance to a deserving master’s or doctoral student enrolled in a Reading and Language Arts program, with preference given to a student from a rural area, or a student dedicated to working with such populations.Syracuse University Superintendents' Alumni Association Scholarship
Created by the distinguished NY Superintendents' Association, this award provides financial assistance to full or part-time graduate students in the Educational Leadership Program in the School of Education.The Dean's Scholarship Fund
This important scholarship fund allows financial assistance to be given to deserving students, who may not be able to afford the cost of graduate education at Syracuse University's top-ranked School of Education.

The Bridge to the City Fund
The SOE programs in New York City are powerful laboratories of urban and multi-cultural education and include the placement and mentoring of SOE student teachers in NYC public schools - including the Region 9, lower Manhattan High School for Leadership which the School of Education works with to improve the academic performance of its students and the professional development of its teachers and administrators. Gifts to this fund are essential to maintain this crucial link to our largest urban area. Funds are used for a variety of purposes included subsidizing the transportation and living expenses of our student teachers and providing the technology they need to remotely submit required work and receive faculty advisement from their "home school" in Syracuse.Summer College in NYC
In July 2007, the first class of college level courses will be taught by the School of Education for Region 9 New York City High School students at the High School for Leadership in Manhattan. Funds are needed to subsidize the tuition costs of the College offering for low-income students whose academic and personal goals match the high standards of SU. New Alumni Giving
"Give Back" Fund
This outstanding opportunity for new alumni of the School of Education to "give back" is targeted to support current student teacher placements in the Syracuse and surrounding School Districts. Contributions to this fund support outstanding student teachers and their host classroom teachers and pupils. Funding for special projects, like playground improvements and book supplies can be supported by this fund. All alumni of the School of Education can be proud of the impact of this opportunity to truly make a difference.
Commemorative Gifts
To make a commemorative gift in honor and/or memory of a person, simply forward a check or make a contribution online to the School of Education along with the name and address of the person you wish to notify of your gift and the reason. We will send that individual a personalized letter acknowledging your gift.
