Financial Aid


How will I pay for my education?

Numerous sources of financial support are available to Teaching English Language Learners applicants:
 
We strongly advise all of our master’s applicants to apply for financial support, including federal loans and work study, through the Syracuse University Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

The application deadline for School of Education scholarships and awards is January 15.  Click here for more details about this process, including a link to submit an online application that is separate from the admissions application.

To apply for a graduate assistantship within the Reading & Language Arts department, send an electronic letter of interest and resume to department chair Kelly Chandler-Olcott at kpchandl@syr.edu.

If you graduated from any degree program at Syracuse University in the past five years, you may be eligible for the Graduate Student Tuition Scholarship, covering 33% of your tuition costs.

Teaching English Language Learners is considered a high-needs area.  As a result, you may be eligible for a reduction in tuition costs for the program through the following:
