M.S. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation

The Master of Science Degree in Instructional Design and Development prepares students for success in a broad range of positions in agencies and schools. The primary purpose of this degree program is preparing professional practitioners through in-depth study, participation in real-world projects, and small group collaboration.  Requirements include practical experience gained from project work as well as knowledge gained from study.

All students are expected to demonstrate mastery of a core body of knowledge gained from courses in educational technology, principles of instruction and learning, instructional design, development, analysis for human performance decisions, program evaluation, and project management. A required capstone course focuses on the integration of academic knowledge into the process of creating a relevant product. A variety of courses are available online.

This degree can lead to career opportunities including instructional designer, training development director, multimedia materials designer, e-learning coordinator, project manager, project evaluator and quality assessment specialist.
