100 Years of Collaboration, Engagement And Inclusion
At the Syracuse University School of Education, students and faculty enjoy a long tradition of working together in a variety of research and clinical settings on campus, in schools and in allied education agencies. Through this tradition of inclusion and engagement, our students acquire the advanced knowledge and specific skills they need to be successful professionals and leaders within education or its allied field.
The School of Education has a distinguished pioneering history. Our faculty members are well-known for their contributions to educational theory, practice and research. Our programs push beyond traditional approaches, often extending and challenging conventional wisdom about current educational practices. It is no surprise to us that in rating the reputation of our school and many of its programs, deans from other colleges and universities and school administrators place Syracuse University's School of Education among the top schools in the nation.
The School of Education provides access to the resources of a world-class research university. A multidisciplinary approach is encouraged through course work in academic programs within and outside the School of Education. Many education faculty members hold dual appointments in other academic departments across the campus.
This decade will bring substantial changes to our educational systems. New knowledge and expectations will fundamentally alter the work of teachers, administrators, researchers and other education professionals. It is important that our students are able to deal with these changes constructively. As it has throughout its history, the Syracuse University School of Education continues to provide the skills needed to be an effective educator able to meet present demands and to anticipate and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow.
